Alexandre Manuel, born in France in 1979 and living in Portugal, with a Phd in visual semiotics, specialized in Editorial Images in France didn’t discover photography until his trip to brazil in 2000.
His love for photography kept growing and he has since fully dedicated his life to his passion, having won several awards and also having participated in several successful exhibitions.
His work has been focused on his biggest interest – Nature – by focusing on black and white landscape. He explores the notion of time – capturing the fleeting moments of nature while simultaneously questioning our place in it.
His technical choices all echo his ideas in the process of creating ethereal and serene images that are a landscape but something more as well.
We are very happy to invite you this thursday, 25th of June, for the double opening of Alexandre Manuel and Rui Tavares at 19.00h at our gallery in Lisbon, and also to come and visit the exhibition until the 20th of July.
