It is with great pleasure that we talk about Pedro Figueiredo’s Exhibition at Museu de Olaria.
Pedro Figueiredo, Guarda, 1974. He completed his Professional Training in Ceramic, a Degree in Sculpture, a Post-graduation in Aesthetic Communication and a Masters’ Degree in Plastic Arts at the University School of the Arts of Coimbra.
Since the year 2000 he has participated in several group exhibitions as well as many individual ones. His award winning work has been recognized in Portugal and abroad and we are proud to have him as an artist here at São Mamede.
Now you can see his work at Museu de Olaria in Barcelos, with a very special exhibition at the “Sala da Capela” from April 18 to the 12th of July.
The sculptural space in his work has been talked about many times – as is his figure’s proportions choices. His figures are not usual or “normal” – yet a strange connection is formed between the viewer and the work. His figured have a presence and stature that make them relatable in unexpected ways.
We definitely think you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to visit Museu da Olaria – but if you can’t go to Barcelos – there is always a chance to see his work in real life in any of our gallery spaces – in Lisbon, Oporto or Algarve!
If you do go, tell us what you thought in the comments below. And remember to check out our website to learn more about portuguese contemporary art – or better yet: pay us a visit in Lisbon, Oporto or Algarve.
